We decided to take a trip over to King Tuts on Wednesday night to play some music with the bloody marvellous indie/disco dance devils, MAY68. Did you know they’re from Manchester? We had a spiffing time and couldn’t have been happier to play with such a splendiferous venue but the biggest thanks goes to everyone who was there to witness the metaphorical “cherry breaking” that was King Tuts!

But…………for those that missed it and are wondering how they’re going to carry on with they’re life then STOP!!! It’s ok, because we got some guy to film our new track Losing My Head. Yeah!!! Take a moment to yourself then enjoy. It’s as simple as 45.2, 46.2, 47.2

We are really looking forward to sharing the Electric Circus stage with the great band, Chew Lips on Wed 18th Aug for the Corona Festival Party.

The band hail from east London and their name originates from a character in the book Borstal Boy by Brendan Behan. Recently signing to the synonymous and darn right cool French Electronic Label Kitsune means climbing up the same ladder Foals, Delphic and Metronomy have already scaled. I really recommend a listen to the new single ‘Slick‘ which should be a highlight at they’re live show on Wednesday. It makes me want to kiss the singer Tigs right across the chew lips. Now before you get all uppity about what we’ve been up to; calm down, put some pants on, slip a surprise in my Long Island Ice Tea, clean up that fresh puddle of sick…and I’ll tell you!

As well as fighting over who’s getting the next shot of Euan’s Electronic Drum Kit, we’ve been extremely busy capturing lots of little noises and sounds, squeezing them into a song like structure and making them sound smooth and creamy for your eagerly awaiting ears.  We’re painfully close to having it ready for your listening pleasure, but we are a meticulous bunch, you’ll be pleased to know, so be very patient and it shall be rewarded.

In case you’ve been living in a warm wet cave for the past couple of weeks (or from outside Edinburgh), you wont know that The Fringe is gearing up at a tremendous speed, and the familiar feverous buzz of anticipation is already well established itself in the city centre.  We will of course be submerging ourselves in the Festival spirit.  Check out our live page for some of the confirmed dates we’re playing.  We may also be involved in some spur-of-the-moment shows (as is the nature of the Edinburgh Festival), so be sure to keep up to date with us on Facebook or Twitter for all the latest information to ensure you don’t miss out!

We had a great night sharing the stage with merchants of coolness, Hockey, at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh.  The talking point of the night was the fact their tour bus was bigger than the actual venue.  In a monumental shift from one side of a spectrum to another, they revealed they were to be supporting Pink for a second time at Hamden stadium a week after the Sneaky Pete’s show.

“How’s that going for you all?” says I, fighting the urge not to scream at my sheer disappointment that they would support someone who, personally, I cant stand! 

“Lotta Lesbians at these gigs”, came the restrained reply.  ; )

We were honoured to be asked to appear not once, but twice, at this years Leith Festival…on consecutive nights.   Thursday night saw us play at the Media Launch, held at Cruz, (Fortunately, there were no swashbuckling riots, as there was last time we played here) and then on Friday night we opened the Festival by headlining at The Granary.  People danced, someone swore, but nobody sicked.

We were in high spirits for another trip to Girvan on the West Coast, where we were asked to gig on their Green.  We proceeded to serenade the good people of Girvan with our electro ear food from the back of a flat bed truck (Our first time doing so). 

“Free CD’s for everyone!” 

We said, flippantly.  Not realising the whole population of Girvan fancied a Free CD.  They completely cleared us out, and it wasn’t long before we were confronted by a group of CD-less teary eyed toddlers.  Talk about feeling guilty! 

We’re busy recording some stomping new tracks for you at the moment, but until then, why not get your mucky little mitts on the Baby Seal mixes of our club tracks, To The Stars and Party’s Over for FREE (You can download them here)! That should keep your whistle well and truly wet until we meet again.

Tomorrow night we’ll be sharing a stage with Portlands finest, Hockey at Sneaky Pete’s.  These guys have been making some pretty big waves on the music scene, and we’re absolutely delighted to be supporting, as we’re all big fans.   As a little treat for you all, here’s a couple of videos of 2 of our favourite Hockey tracks, Song Away and Too Fake.

Initially, this was scheduled as an Over 14′s gig at Cabaret Voltaire.  Sadly, for reasons outwith our control, it has been moved to Sneaky Pete’s and has been made an Over 18′s night.  For this we can only apologise.  We’re just as disappointed as we know many of our younger fans will be.

This Thursday 10th June we’re picking our guitars back up, battoning down the hatches and jumping aboard the Cruz ship in Leith for the press launch of the Leith Festival. Our previous experience of this floating venue includes performing a live soundtrack to a bar room brawl (It was scary stuff!). Here’s hoping our return is more “Bar Room Blitz” than “Bar Room Brawl”!

24hours later (Friday 11th june) we’ll be kicking off the Leith Festival officially by headlining The Granary. Support comes from The Vibe and Machar Granite. This year, the live music line up for the Leith Festival is bigger and better than ever, so why not kick start it with us at the granary?

Last time we played Tokyo Blu we managed to squeeze a gig in with ‘The phenomenal hand clap band‘ through in Glasgow before racing back to Edinburgh to finish off our night with the Tokyo tremors. A fire alarm interrupted our set but everyone regrouped and came together for our grand finale, a cover of Friendly Fires ‘Paris’.

This time we have a bit more of a straight forward night and we also found the video camera that we lost at the last club night. We’re going to be on it 100% so watch out and step back people.

This is our brand spanking new track. So new in fact, the name has only just been confirmed at the time of writing as “Let’s Start A War (It takes 2 to Tango)”.

The filming was accomplished by getting a sexy chimp drunk, strapping a camcorder to his head, giving him a cigar and letting him loose in the crowd. These are the images captured by said camera…enjoy!

With a crash of the cymbals, and a rake of the strings,

These are the tools, with which our story begins.

It was a dark dark night, when this episode began

6 guys in a pub, with a drink in their hand.

They said: You know what would be cool, what would be really, really great

If we played not just one Twitterfest, but if we went and played eight.

The others gave him a jeer, and several slapped his face

But one turned to the others, and said you might have a case.

Instead of playing eight, which, btw, is absurd

Why don’t we play three, coming home for the third.

Some people thought we were crazy, and others were shocked

But we knew that we could do it, and make sure they all rocked.

We loaded the van, to start the adventure

Some of the talk on the journey, comes under a censure.

We turned up in Glasgow, and then played our set

Then we rushed back to the van, where a beer was met.

Then we were off, up to the land of Dundee

Excited to play once more, and to let all those people see.

Our adrenaline pump, and our excitement on-stage

We’re like your favourite pop-up book, can’t wait to see what’s over the page.

The gig had us psyched, we played our little hearts out

Because I’m not allowed a mic, I always have to shout.

Then nature struck, and the fog was immense

Our friend Steph the driver, could hardly see it was so dense.

Then road works appeared, as if they were sent

To make us fail in our venture, only completing 66 percent.

Our faces were glum, until Steph took a handle!

Like Hermes from legend, It was like wearing winged Sandals.

We were a tiny bit late, but we made it in time

The triple-gig was on, all we had to do was climb.

Up to the top of Ghillie Dhu, and play one more set

Some people thought we’d be tired, what a surprise they were about to get.

Martin whipped out his guitar licks, all his fancy riffs and strums

I donned my special get-up to look, like the Ultimate Warrior on drums.

So that was the night, when the impossible was done

That might be overstating it, but this is my poem, so I’m having fun.

But what you cannot deny, was the achievement that night

We thank our manager and driver, who helped us in our plight.

To do a mini-tour of Twestivals, all on the same day

They were for a good cause, the charity Concern, by the way.

So that was our story, our Epic adventure
